2 Females Pushed, Robbed at Gunpoint South of UC Campus

Two women, aged 20 and 24, were robbed by two men with guns as they were walking four blocks south of the UC Berkeley campus shortly after midnight early Saturday morning, according to UC Berkeley police.

Two women walking near the intersection of Hillegass and Dwight Way in Berkeley shortly after midnight this past weekend were pushed and robbed by two men armed with guns, according to UC Berkeley police.

The victims, aged 20 and 24, were walking about 12:30 a.m. Saturday when approached by the robbers.

"Both suspects displayed firearms, pushed the victims, and demanded their
property," UC Berkeley police said in a crime alert today, Tuesday. "The suspects took their purses and ran westbound on Dwight Way. The victims were not injured during the encounter."

A search of the area by UC and Berkeley police did not locate the robbers, police said.

According to campus police, the robbers were described as:

  • Suspect #1 – A Black male, in his mid-20’s, 6’-0” in height, large build, braided hair, wearing a striped polo-style shirt, dark jeans, and armed with a gun.
  • Suspect #2 – A Black male, in his mid-20’s, 5’-10” in height, thin build, wearing a light colored t-shirt, dark jeans, and armed with a gun.
