I am a news hound who also enjoys foreign and independent films. Pedro Almodóvar is high on my list of film directors. I consider Penelope Cruz and Laura Linney to be two of the finest actresses in the business today. I prefer to read nonfiction. However, two of my favorite American novelists are Barbara Kingsolver and Gore Vidal.
