Reach Out of Alameda County

Reach Out is staffed with volunteers who are former hospital patients who call or visit Alameda County Network of MentalMore Health clients every week. The program is based on the belief that current patients are more likely to reach full recovery by speaking with those who have been through the same experience, creating a connection peer to peer. Reach Out also refers patientsto the resources available to them in the community.
SEEDS Community Resolution Center

This Berkeley non-profit is the result of a union between three community mediation programs in Alameda County.More Together, they bring over 150 volunteers providing mediation, facilitation and training services for low or no cost to community organizations and non-profits interested in finding smart ways to reduce conflict. SEEDS also works with the Alameda County Juvenile Court and local schools to create a restorative justice model that seeks to address and prevent harm rather than merely punish offenders. These successful models have offenders, victims, families and community members come together to discuss incidents so offenders can understand the harm caused and try to make reparations to the victims.

The Homeless Action Center offers professional legal services to homeless and mentally ill people throughout AlamedaMore County. The Center provides assistance with supplemental security income, food stamps, Medi-Cal, social security disability insurance and cash-assistance programs for immigrants. The Center also staffs law student interns throughout the year who help to interview people and draft appellate briefs.</p> <p>Community members can make donations to the Homeless Action Center via check, money order or Paypal.</p>
