But again we also dont really know the whole story of what actually happened. I thought North Oakland was getting better. He probably should have taken Telegraph to 40th instead of going through that sketchy area. South Berkeley and North Oakland have their fair share of problems.

It's really sad that this had to happen and to someone so young! my heart goes out to the victim and…Read More his family. As a current resident of Oakland however, I have encountered many shady individuals and creepers on the streets (especially at night).
Although the city has it's positives ( I live in a beautiful vibrant neighborhood closer to the Oakland hills), it's important for everyone to keep a lookout when venturing downtown. It makes me sad that incidents like this give the place I call home a horrible reputation for crime and violence.

We will need to bulldoze down housing projects and start a house to house search for contraband. And I'm a liberal and a strong Constitutionalist. These emergency measures will be lifted after the threat is neutralized.
