<p>The flagship of the University of California system, Cal-Berkeley enrolls approximately 35,000 students, including 25,000 undergrads and 10,000 graduate students in 14 colleges and schools. Forty-eight of Cal's  52 doctoral programs rank in the top 10 nationally, and the National Science Foundation awards more graduate research fellowships to Cal students than those from any other school.</p>
<p>Cal's collections include the museums of Paleontology and Vertebrate Zoology, the Mark Twain Papers at the Bancroft Library and the Pacific Film Archive, all considered leaders in their fields. Cal admitted about 25 percent of freshman applicants to the Class of 2014; the average high school GPA of successful applicants was 4.19 on a four-point scale, weighted for AP and college-level coursework.</p>
