Nabolom Bakery

Anyone who has spent time in the College Avenue area has surely noticed Nabolom Bakery, with its loud burgundy sign and drawings of jaguars. The cooperative (worker-owned) bakery has been in operation since 1976, and it specializes in "artisan" pastries. Nabalom offers a large selection of sweets, made with organic or natural ingredients, as well as breads and some lunch foods like pizzas and sandwiches. The bakery is in back, so the store's front area looks like a typical coffee shop, and it hosts occasional concerts or open-mic nights. Nabalom operates largely as a wholesale baker for various local business, so large orders are accepted.
