Hmm, where'd my review go? Do you erase unflattering reviews? Head Royce is all about income and doesn't see it as there problem to ensure that the kids actually get an education. They offer the kids the opportunity to learn. In other words if your kid isn't making best use of that opportunity they don't see that as something you need to know. If you have a self motivated kid this school may work very well for you and them. If your kid has other interests send them somewhere where paying tens of thousands earns you honest progress reports.
This is a fine school where they offer a great education for self motivated kids who want to get with the plan.
Where the wheels come off is when the child is not self motivated and provides a less than helpful attitude. We found that not only were the school not interested in inflicting education on our daughter, they also covered for her so that we didn't find out until late in the game. When confronted they left us with the impression that so long as they were getting paid everything else would turn out fine. We disagreed and removed her from the school.
However, many of her friends from that school did very well and were well able to take on courses in good colleges.
It's a bit sort of new age touchy feely, our daughter did a lot better in Alameda High School where she couldn't skip class without us knowing before she got home.
Good for self motivated kids. Not so good for keeping a contract to supply education on behalf of the parents when the kid is not self motivated.
