Cafe Rouge, a Berkeley meat-lover's mainstay, was opened at 4th St.'s Market Hall in 1996 and remains a popular dining destination to this day. Owner Marsha McBride designed the cafe to showcase the meat and poultry products of local ranchers. The restaurant has a butcher shop right inside where clientele can order organic steaks, lamb, goat, poultry and pork as well as many of the restaurant-made charcuterie and pantry items.

The restaurant itself is whimsical in style with a colorful interior and features a full bar and excellent wine list. The menu, as you would expect, is focused on meat and poultry dishes.
