Originally founded in 1964 and existing in its current location since 1987, Berkeley's Black Repertory Group has been helping Black culture thrive in its communtiy for decades. Its spacious, 250-seat theater on Adeline Street has played host to numerous African-American icons of film, theater, music and comedy over the years, and also hosts children's summer camps. The non-profit group puts on its own productions at this site, those of other theater groups, in addition to talent shows, town meetings and book signings.
