Love Works in Business and In Yoga

A positive perspective on getting strong business results and treating people with deep respect and "love."

I just started reading a fabulous new business book, “Love Works. Seven Timeless Principles for Effective Leaders” by Joel Manby.  It is so refreshing to hear a positive perspective on getting strong business results and treating people with deep respect and “love.”  Love meaning the verb “to love.”  How you acknowledge people, listen to them, and deeply care, which brings out their best.

I actually “read” these books as I walk.  Right after I finished the first chapter on Patience, I attended my favorite yoga class in Jack London Square with Vicki (@MalteseYogi).  Vicki brings community together and welcomes every new person who decides that they need to slow down to move fast.  She embraces the group with love.  When I asked her what motivated her to do this every week, she said it was to create this sense of community.

What do you do in order to “slow down, to move fast”?  Where do you get refreshed to prepare your body, mind and spirit to begin a new week?  My Sunday morning yoga class is my grounding space and I am grateful for Vicki and the community that shows up.
