Berkeley 'Sunday Streets' – Big Block Party

Following the enthusiastic response to last year's inaugural "Berkeley Sunday Streets," the city is staging the event again this year on Oct. 13. Shattuck Avenue be closed to traffic for a giant, 17-block-long street party and festival.

Berkeley is reprising its big "Sunday Streets" festival on Sunday, Oct. 13, with a very long block party on normally busy Shattuck Avenue.

The event from 1-4 p.m. will feature a wide assortment of activities and entertainment and the opportunity to stroll, skate, scoot or bike along Shattuck without interference from cars from Haste Street in the downtown area to Rose Street in the North Berkeley "Gourmet Ghetto."

You can see a "Sunday Streets Berkeley" video that was posted on Vimeo as a Berkeley City College class project by Jack Mortensbak.
