Upcoming: Big Reunion for All Berkeley High Alums

All graduates of Berkeley High are invited to the attend the school's All-Class Reunion this coming weekend, the second time that Berkeley High has held such a combined class gathering. One main event is a picnic Saturday at San Pablo Park.

One big event coming to Berkeley this week is actually several events spread over three days – the Berkeley High School All-Class Reunion – a combined celebration for all those who have graduated from Berkeley High.

The Aug. 23-25 gathering will be the second such reunion for Berkeley High, following the first one in 2011 when many alums gathered for an outing in San Pablo Park to hug old classmates, reminisce, laugh, picnic and enjoy imitations of James Brown. (See accompanying video.)

The alums will gather again at San Pablo Park this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Another main event will be a Charity Fun Run/Walk from North Berkeley BART to Aquatic Park and back, beginning at 7:30 a.m. Saturday.

The reunion is also the 25th reunion for the Class of 1988.

For more information about the events and the schedule, see the reunion website.

The Berkeley City Council last month approved a recommendation from Councilman Darryl Moore for the city to officially sponsor the reunion.
