Bike Ride Brings Home Climate Realities

Join Buy Local Berkeley and other non-profits on a ride that draws attention to solutions at noon on Sat. May 5.

Are you freaked out by the wacky weather? Concerned about sea level rise? Wanting to participate in positive community-oriented environmental solutions? Then join Buy Local Berkeley, 350.org, the East Bay Bicycle Coalition and Transition Berkeley on Saturday May 5th for a community bike ride, starting at noon from the downtown Civic Center Park.

This free, all-ages bike ride will take us to the Berkeley Marina to measure projected sea level rise for a memorable 350.org photo. We'll also stop briefly at sustainable local businesses on the way, learning how businesses can play an important role in combatting the climate crisis.

Join us for the bike ride: meet at Civic Center Park at 12 pm.
Or meet us at the Berkeley Marina Pier for the sea level rise reality check photo at 2 pm.

To end the day, we'll kick back at Cafe Leila at 3:30 pm (1724 San Pablo) for food and fun! Meet us there if you like.

Bring your friends, your bikes, and most of all yourselves! Feel free to decorate and print out dots to put on your bike or your clothing! Invite your friends on Facebook!
