St. Mary's High Defeats Piedmont For NCS Division IV Title

Saint Mary's College High School, located on the border of Albany and Berkeley, is the regional baseball champion for its division in California's North Coast Section.

Saint Mary's College High edged Piedmont High, 7-6, on Friday evening to win the North Coast Section Division IV baseball title.

The top-seeded Panthers scored on a two-out infield single in the bottom of the seventh inning to capture their first NCS crown since 2009. St. Mary's has played in the section championship game four of the past five years now.

The Highlanders were trying to win their first NCS divisional title.
