Girls Basketball: Two Berkeley Teams in NorCal Semi-Finals Tomorrow

Two teams, two chances to move on the finals — in different divisions.

Berkeley basketball fans will have more than one reason to cheer Tuesday when teams from two local high schools play in the semi-final round of the NorCal girls basketball regional championships.

No. 12 Berkeley High School (20-11) will face No. 8 Gunn (21-6) in Palo Alto at 7 p.m. in a Division I match. Berkeley defeated McClymonds 54-44 on Saturday to advance. (You can read more about Saturday's game here on insidebayarea.com.)

In the open division, No. 4 St. Mary's-Berkeley (29-4) will play No. 1 Bishop O'Dowd (27-3) at 7 p.m. (The venue was still undecided Sunday.) St. Mary's scored 43 to Sacramento's 31 in Friday's first round to move up.

The name is weirdly spelled, but not this weird. It's Caffe, not Caffee. I've only typed these wordsRead More a thousand times.
