Slow Food East Bay's Spring Potlcuks 4/28

Join Slow Food East Bay on Sunday April 28 for their quarterly potlucks. Enjoy good food and conversation with like-minded folks!

Once again, a few supremely generous folks have stepped forward and agreed to open their homes to Slow Food East Bay members for our quarterly potlucks.  The farmers markets are heating up all around us, Mariquita Farm is offering Mystery Boxes again, summer CSA's are rolling in.  Time to explore & share our treasures!

Gatherings take place on Sunday, April 28th - specific locations, timing and themes are listed below with links to the appropriate signups.  Pick whichever one appeals and reserve your place ASAP - they're quite limited at some of the spots.

Let's use these gatherings as a kick-in-the-pants reminder to visit our local farmers markets (Walnut Creek! Berkeley! Oakland! Alameda!)  or community gardens and really connect with the producers of our food.  A key element to the Slow Food philosophy is to know and care about where our food comes from.  We encourage you to consider the thread from the soil to the plants and animals to the human hands that raise and harvest into our own hands.  And then relish in this connection!  Please come to whichever meal you choose with a story about the food you've brought.  Where did you forage?  Who is your farmer?  Which local market is your favorite and why?  Share your favorite tips with the other attendees, bring notice to a farm you admire...  However you'd like to share your own connections.  We can't wait to hear!

From our markets and gardens to yours,
The Slow Food East Bay Team
