Top Laurels for BHS Frisbee Team, Jazz Combo
Berkeley High School is no stranger to the national stage. Recently in the spotlight for high honors are the Ultimate Frisbee Team and Jazz Combo A.
The latest edition of the Berkeley school district newsletter reports top honors for two Berkeley High School ensembles – the Jazz Combo A and the Ultimate Frisbee Team.
Below are the items from the "A+ News," the bimonthly newsletter of the Berkeley Unified School District. It was distributed by email on Tuesday.
Ultimate Frisbee
"The Berkeley High School Ultimate Frisbee team was crowned State Champions after beating the nine-time repeat winners from Alameda in the finals by the score of 11-6! The team is now 18-3 in the season and is ranked #7 in the nation!"
Jazz Combo
"The number one jazz trade magazine in the nation, Downbeat Magazine, just named Berkeley High's Combo A "High School Combo of the Year," which came on the heals of recently winning combo divisions at both the Reno and Monterey Jazz Festivals."
