UC Berkeley Stadium on Track to Open Sept. 1 for Opening Game

After its $321 million facelift and seismic retrofit, people will want to "be there" for the opening game.

The Simpson Center for Student Athlete High should be ready to go September 1, according to the Bay Area News Group. They think the new 63,000-seat facility will be filled on kick off day, “barring some kind of natural disaster.”

Speaking about Cal's the opening football game against Nevada, Cal athletic director Sandy Barbour says the place will be packed. People will want to have the opportunity to say “I was there,” according to Bay Area News Group.
