Middle School Jazz Bands Rock Yoshi's

Catch sets by Willard, Longfellow and King jazz band on video.

Yoshi's has hosted hundreds of legendary jazz greats, including Joe Williams, Max Roach, Branford Marsalis, and McCoy Tyner.

Add to that jazz bands from Willard, Longfellow, and King middle schools, each of whom played sets at the club as the school year wound down.

"We've been having a ball," Longfellow guest conductor Davis Ellis said as the band tore into "Off the Wall," by Phil Hardiman. "A real good time."

It's clear in the videos that the audience did, too.

The name is weirdly spelled, but not this weird. It's Caffe, not Caffee. I've only typed these wordsRead More a thousand times.

I could blame those cut-ups, typographers in the basement typing onto big circular steel plates
