Welfare, Development and the Secularization of Spiritual Values, Oxymoron or Strategic Necessity?

Dr. Newgarden worked as an Applied Behavioral Scientist for the California State University at Los Angeles, the University of California’s Office of the President and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, and the University of Southern California.  At USC she earned her PhD doing research on bureaucratic reorganization – monitoring systemic change in the public sector. Her current academic interest relates to secularization of government in our newly emerging democratic nation-states.  Peggy will discuss her research on this topic, explain what makes it an important social concern, and explore its applications.
