Cal Day: UC Berkeley's Campus-Wide Extravaganza this Saturday

The event features more than 300 free, public events geared toward everyone from prospective students to kids of all ages from around the Bay Area.

Touch a meteorite, dig like an archaeologist, sit-in on a lecture with one of Cal’s leading lights,or check out UC Berkeley's victory cannnon at Cal Day — the university's annual open house, which kicks off this Saturday, April 20

The campus-wide extravaganza features more than 300 free, public events geared toward everyone from prospective students to kids of all ages from around the Bay Area.

From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., wander Berkeley's main campus as well as the UC Botanical Garden, Hall of Science and Space Sciences Laboratory in nearby Strawberry Canyon, all of which are participating in Cal Day.

Other activities include a consultation with the bug doctor, listening to Olympic ice skater and children’s book author Kristi Yamaguchi, touring research labs and residence halls, learning about Mayan astronomy or simply enjoying the afternoon at Memorial Glade.
