The BHS Rowing Club, with a team of 100 athletes, has received $3,000 toward fees, equipment and transportation as one of the recipients of the KNBR Step Up to the Plate for Education grants program funded by Wells Fargo.
Through an open community nomination process, schools applied to receive grants. On this day, $75,000 in grants was awarded to 20 Bay Area schools to support athletics, arts and community-based programs.
World Series champion Brandon Crawford was on hand to congratulate the winners at the awards ceremony at AT&T Park.
