With that in mind, we return this week with a look at some of the most expensive homes currently for sale in the Berkeley-Oakland region.

In Albany, this three-bedroom, two-bathroom home at 877 Washington Ave. is listed at $759,000.

The residence, built in 1940, is 1,520 feet and sits on tenth an acre. It contains hardwood floors, panoramic views and a formal dining room.

In Alameda, this eight-bedroom, 4.5-bathroom house at 1232 Bay St. is listed at $2.4 million.

The house, built in 1910, is 4,075 square feet and sits more than a third of an acre. It has a grand foyer, sweeping staircase and a sunroom.

And at the top of the list, there's this five-bedroom, six-bathroom home at 150 Requa Road in Piedmont. It's listed at $7.4 million

The home, built in 1932, is 7,281 square feet and sits on two-thirds of an acre. It has a three-car garage, a wine cellar and manicured gardens.
