The Least Expensive Home For Sale In Berkeley

Check out this two-bedroom house that's selling for less than $400,000

Whether a home is expensive or not depends on where you live and how much money you can spend.

The prices for houses in the East Bay have risen steadily this year.

The latest DataQuick figures show the median price in Contra Costa County is $437,000 while the median price in Alameda County is $590,000.

That may sound like a lot unless you live in San Francisco. The median price there topped $1 million a few months ago. In fact, the cost of owning a home in The City has convinced some San Franciscans to sell and move to the East Bay, where homes are a bargain by comparison.

With all this in mind, we thought we'd try to find the least expensive single-family homes in the community.

In Berkeley, this two-bedroom, one-bathroom house at 1468 10th St. is listed at $349,000.

The 785-square-foot residence was built in 1926 and is described as a "fabulous fixer."
