Real Estate: The Oldest Home For Sale In Berkeley

Check out this house with first floor retail space that was originally built shortly after the Civil War

You know the old saying. They don't make 'em like they used to.

They may or may not be true when it comes to homes, but for some people older houses are simply quainter and more "lived in."

This week, we thought we'd try to find the oldest home for sale in each of our communities.

In Berkeley, there's this one-bedroom, 1.5-bathroom house at 1824 5th St. that was originally built in 1874.

The 3,524-square-foot residence with a potential office or retail space on the first floor sits on a tenth of an acre. The list price is $1.6 million.

Do you know of other older homes for sale in your neighborhood. Tell us about them in the comments section.
