Who Is on Your Berkeley-Based Fantasy White House Cabinet?

Imagine Barack Obama looked beyond the Beltway for his next Secretary of State.

As President Barack Obama selects candidates for his cabinet in his second term, he will no doubt draw names from the highest rungs of the American Establishment. But what if he conducted a broader search; what if he considered city councilmembers and small business owners, not simply senators and CEOs? After all, there’s talent and experience outside the Beltway and Wall Street. It wasn’t that long ago that Obama himself was a mere community organizer in Chicago.

Not counting UC Berkeley professors who have already served at the pleasure of presidents, which Berkeley personalities and politicians would you like to see Obama nominate for a cabinet post? The chair of the Peace and Justice Commission for Secretary of Defense?
