Watching Space Shuttle Endeavour's Flyover: 5 Things to Know

The Space Shuttle Endeavour makes its once-in-a-lifetime farewell tour over Northern California, sometime beginning about 9:30 a.m.

Whether you’ve got a phone camera or a Nikon digital SLR, we want to see what you saw. Share your pictures with fellow Patch users here.

To make sure you have the most essential information Friday morning, we provide you what you need to know: 

  1. NASA will issue news of any changes, such as the one-hour takeoff delay time of 8:15 a.m., announced Thursday: http://www.nasa.gov/news/releases/latest/index.html
  2. The flight path take Space Shuttle Endeavour over the San Francisco Bay Area about 9:30 a.m., roughly following U.S. Highway 101 and appearing over NASA-Ames about 10 a.m., then the Monterey Bay Aquarium and Vandenberg Air Force Base. It will fly over Los Angeles in the late morning.
  3. If  you spot the shuttle during the four-and-a-half-hour period, use Twitter hashtags #spottheshuttle and #OV105, Endeavour's vehicle designation.
  4. NASA will webstream the Endeavour’s progress beginning at 8 am. via: http://www.nasa.gov/ntv
