Be part of a discussion surrounding the first debate between President Barack Obama and GOP challenger Mitt Romney. This is a free event but space is limited.

We're seeking Democrats and Republicans, undecided voters, small business owners, civic-minded citizens and those interested in the political process.

The event begins at 5:30 p.m. as members of the public gather at the Hotsy Totsy Club. (See the full details here.) Barack Obama and Mitt Romney are scheduled to debate at 6 p.m. Afterward Patch editors will be happy to talk with attendees regarding their impression of the debate.

Please RSVP to attend this event if possible. No one will be turned away for lack of an RSVP. This is a bar, however, so only those 21 and over can attend.

The debate will focus on domestic policy and be divided into six time segments of approximately 15 minutes each on topics to be selected by the moderator and announced several weeks before the debate.

The moderator will open each segment with a question, after which each candidate will have two minutes to respond. The moderator will use the balance of the time in the segment for a discussion of the topic.
