Poll: Should the City Shut Down Occupy Berkeley?

As the encampment at Civic Center Park has grown, so has concern about public safety and blight. Should the city shut it down?

Occupy Berkeley has been underway for just over two months, and , Civic Center Park has since become a full-blown tent city. 

The city has taken , but now . The Berkeley High School principal is worried about the proximity of the encampment to the school, and  that incidents of assault and battery have been increasing in recent weeks. As such, the city's support for Occupy Berkeley is wavering — and so is the support from Berkeley residents.

"I'm embarrassed that the city is condoning these people openly breaking the law by camping," said . "They're not protesting anything, they just have a free ticket to illegally lodge!"
