UC Police Request: Call if You See This Man on Campus
UC Berkeley are asking that anyone who sees on campus the man in the accompanying photo to notify them right away. He was arrested on campus on Oct. 16 with a stolen phone, according to police.
A campus police "Crime Alert" issued Wednesday said the man was arrested at the Recreational Sports Facility on Oct. 16 when he was found in possession of a phone reported stolen in Berkeley the previous day.
UC police have requested a court stay-away order from the campus for the suspect, identified Joseph Dale Lewis, 55, who is known also as Yusuf Ali Mohammad, police said.

On October 16th, 2013 UCPD was contacted by Recreational Sports Facility regarding an individual causing a disturbance. UCPD responded and contacted Joseph Dale LEWIS. LEWIS was found to be in possession of a telephone that was reported stolen the previous day in the City of Berkeley. LEWIS was arrested and UCPD has requested that the court issue a stay-away order from the UC Berkeley campus.
If you see this person, or any other person who appears to be trespassing with the purpose of committing theft or other crimes on University property, please notify UCPD without delay.
