UC Berkeley Police Log, May 18 to 21
Numerous smashed-window car break-ins reported in campus parking lots.
Friday, May 18
2:12 a.m. -- Police arrested Gustavo Ribeiro, 30, at Derby and Belrose for driving under the influence.
7:11 a.m. – A woman reported that the window had been smashed on her 2010 Mazda at Coffer Dam Lot and a tote bag and its contents, valued at $445, taken. Tote bag was recovered at Northwest Hearst.

8:28 a.m. – A man reported the theft of an orange Jacobson Tri-King batter, six brass fittings, two golf cart keys, two off-road utility vehicle keys, and 50 aluminum poles valued at $3,150 in both tunnels of Edwards Stadium.
11:58 a.m. -- A man reported that the window had been smashed on his gray 2003 Honda Accord in parking lot CKC-8 and a black Canon digital camera, four camera lenses, and a black and tan Tamerack camera case valued at $2,000.

12:39 p.m. – Police arrested Anthony Flores, 37, at Sather Gate on a no-bail Department of Corrections felony warrant. He was taken to Santa Rita Jail.
1:33 p.m. – Police arrested Jeff Roach, 21, in front of 2400 Telegraph Ave. on a $50,000 San Diego County Sheriff’s Office felony warrant. He was taken to Santa Rita Jail.
4:20 p.m. – Six persons were victims of grand theft of their wallets and contents, a bag with an Apple iPad, two silver cufflinks, and four Apple iPhones valued at $2,795 in the ASUC Stevens Lounge. Police are seeking a black male age 35 to 40, 5 feet, 8 inches, 180 pounds, wearing a white T-shirt under a beige sweater and blue jeans.
Saturday, May 19
2:45 p.m. – A student reported the theft of his black Quintana Roo racing bicycle from Unit-2, valued at $3,000. Police are investigating.
Monday, May 21
1:37 a.m. – Officers served Jeffrey Jones, 45, with a seven-day stay-away order at the Associated Students Garage at the Cesar Chavez Center, and arrested Barry Shaw, 59, for two counts of violating a court order.
2:39 p.m. – A man reported the theft of two espresso machine screens and a five-pound bag of coffee at the UC Berkeley Art Museum Café. The property was returned and a 30-year-old man is under investigation.
4:24 p.m. – A woman reported that a window had been broken on her white 1991 Mazda Navajo in the MSRI lot.
