Three Robbers Grab, Shove Woman on Hillegass

A 20-year-old woman was attacked and robbed early Sunday morning while walking on Hillegass Avenue near Dwight Way, according to the University of California Police Department.

The woman, possibly affiliated with UC Berkeley, was walking in the 2500 block of Hillegass about 1:58 a.m. when she heard footsteps behind her and a voie said, "Don't move," the police press release said.

When the victim turned around, a man grabbed her by the neck while another man and a woman took her property, including the laptop and phone, police said. 

The victim screamed and was pushed to the ground, police said. She received minor injuries, according to police.

The three robbers left northbound on Hillegass. UC and Berkeley Police department officers searched the area but were unable to find the suspects, police said.

Police said the suspects were described as:

• Suspect #1 – A Black female in her 20s, with a light complexion and wearing a turquoise sweatshirt.
• Suspect #2 – A Black male in his 20s, with a dark complexion, wearing a white t-shirt and black beanie.
• Suspect #3 – A Black male in his 20s, with a dark complexion, wearing a white t-shirt and black beanie.
