Three suspects were arrested after an armed robbery early this morning, Thursday, at the intersection of Warring Street and Channing Way, according to a release from UC Berkeley Police.
The incident occured around 1:34 a.m. when a 19-year-old man was standing at the intersection. He was approached by two men. One was armed with a gun and demanded that the victim hand over his backpack, cell phone and wallet, police said.
The victim complied and the two suspects fled in a nearby car. The victim was not injured during the encounter, according to police.
Officers from both the UC Police Department and and the Berkeley Police Department searched the area for the suspects and the car.
The suspects’ vehicle was stopped on Highway 13 in Oakland and the male driver and two male passengers occupants were taken into custody, police said.
