Suspected Cal Campus Robber Arrested

Kody Alan Smith, 24, is being accused of threatening and stealing cash from two women.

University of California police arrested a 24-year-old on suspicion of multiple robberies in which victims were allegedly forced to withdraw and hand over cash from a U.C. Berkeley ATM.

Kody Alan Smith has been charged with multiple counts of robbery, according to a University of California Police news release Tuesday.

In two separate incidents, Smith is accused of threatening women to give him cash near the university's Sproul Plaza. He allegedly posed as a magazine salesman and would approach women before leading them to a nearby ATM and forcing them withdraw to give to him, the news release said.
