Off-Duty Berkeley Police Officer Assaulted, Hospitalized

The officer is expected to survive, according to a BPD spokesperson.

An off-duty Berkeley police officer was the victim of an assault this weekend in Burlingame, a Berkeley police sergeant said early this morning.

The officer was transported to a hospital and is expected to survive, Sgt. Jennifer Wilson said.

Wilson said Burlingame police has the lead in the investigation, and that Berkeley police had no additional information about the incident.
