Man Arrested on Indecent Exposure at Cal Dorm

A 35-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of felony indecent exposure after exposing himself and committing an indecent act in front of female students at a UC Berkeley dorm

A 35-year-old man who allegedly exposed himself and committed a lewd act in front of two female students at a Cal dorm was captured by UC Berkeley police and booked on felony indecent exposure, campus police said Monday.

Police were dispatched about 11:09 p.m. on Nov. 27 to Unit 1 of Cheney Hall on the report of a man exposing himself in view of two female students, aged 17 and 18, police said in a crime alert.

The students "observed the male suspect standing outside of the glass lobby doors exposing his genitals and masturbating," according to police.

A description of the 6-foot 1-inch-tall, heavyset man with "a scruffy face" and wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt was dispatched to UC officers, who detained a suspect matching that description near Davidson Hall in Unit 2, police said.

"The suspect was positively identified by the victims and was arrested," according to campus police.
