Man Arrested in Double Stabbing, Arson at Harmon Street Home

One stabbing victim remains hospitalized, while the other was released after medical treatment.

Berkeley police have arrested a man on suspicion of attempted murder, arson, domestic violence and animal cruelty after he tried to flee the scene of a fire and double stabbing, the Oakland Tribune reported Wednesday afternoon.

Police say Victor Lamb, 50, with no fixed address, stabbed a woman, 71, who and a man, 20, at a home in the 1400 block of Harmon Street in South Berkeley Tuesday afternoon. The woman has reportedly rented the home for decades.

The female victim is hospitalized but her injuries are not life-threatening, while the male victim was treated and released after the incident, according to the Tribune.

Lamb barricaded himself inside the hosue when police arrived shortly after 4 p.m., waved a can of lighter fluid and then set the house on fire, according to the Oakland Tribune. 

He was arrested after a struggle with police officers, the report said.
