Home Burglars Run Over Berkeley Hills Man with Car

A Berkeley Hills resident is recovering from injuries after being attacked by burglars he caught inside his home.

At about 3 p.m. Tuesday, resident Steve Hill found three burglars in his home near Grizzly Peak Boulevard, abc7 news reported.

"He was just yelling, 'Wait, don't do that,' very loudly at the top of his lungs," said neighbor Kalena Gregory.

The burglars punched the resident in the face and ran over his leg with a car before getting away in a white Cadillac Eldorado. Hill's neighbor reported seeing a female driver and a male passenger. One of the burglars was left behind but was not caught.

Neighbors found Hill lying in the street outside of his house, screaming in pain.

Hill told police that the last three digits of the getaway car's license place were 988.

Hill's is the third home on his block to be broken into in the past two weeks, abc7 reported. Each time, burglars gained entry by kicking in the back door.
