A male high school student was attacked this morning, Wednesday, by a man who stole his wallet and struck him with a handgun, according to an Oakland Tribune article.

Police said the robbery took place at the intersection of Milvia and Stuart streets, about two blocks from the Berkeley Technology Academy, an alternative high school where the victim is a student.

The student was treated at Children's Hospital for minor injuries, the Tribune reported.

The academy and a nearby preschool, King Child Development Center, were locked down during a police search for the robber, the article said.
