A missing 61-year-old Berkeley man suffering from dementia was located late this afternoon, Tuesday, after Berkeley police issued an appeal for public help in locating him.

Berkeley police issued the alert shortly after 4 p.m. with a photo and description, saying he was last seen about 8 a.m. near the Claremont Hotel. Oakland police picked up the alert and sent it out on the nixle.com police alert system.
