Fire Damages Cottage on MLK Jr. Way

A smoke alarm alerted the cottage's resident, who escaped safely.

A fire caused about $50,000 damage to a cottage on Martin Luther King Jr. Way in Berkeley on Monday evening, according to a report in the Oakland Tribune.

The blaze caused another $20,000 in damage to the occupant's personal property.

The woman who lived in the cottage was alerted by a smoke alarm and escaped the fast-moving fire, Interim Fire Chief Gil Dong said.

The name is weirdly spelled, but not this weird. It's Caffe, not Caffee. I've only typed these wordsRead More a thousand times.
