Fire Guts House on Curtis Street Tuesday Morning

There were no injuries in the one-alarm fire.

Berkeley fire officials are investigating the cause of a blaze that damaged a two-story home on Curtis and Hopkins street Tuesday morning. 

The Berkeley Fire Department dispatched four fire engines, a ladder truck and an ambulance to the scene at 10:18. Crews contained the fire within 30 minutes. There were no injuries. 

According to the Deputy Fire Chief Avery Webb, the fire started in the lower level and spread to the second level and the attic, causing significant damage to all three levels. The cause of the fire remains unknown, according to investigator Stan Fernandez.
