Police and investigators from the Alameda County coroner's bureau have recovered the body of 31-year-old Douglas Jones. The body washed up in the Berkeley Marina at approximately 7:45 a.m on Saturday, according to the coroner's bureau. Police received a report of a body in the water against the rocks at the marina's southernmost point, Berkeley police Sgt. David White said.
A server at Hs Lordships restaurant discovered the body “submerged at the bay's edge” according to the San Francisco Chronicle. The staff had been in a restaurant meeting.
"We had a moment of silence for the individual,” the Chronicle quotes general manager Kelli Praught as saying. [Where we] “thought about their family."
