Couple Robbed at Gunpoint Near Home

Police seek three suspects in connection with Stuart Street incident.

Police are seeking three men in connection with an armed robbery on the 2600 block of Stuart Street.

Responding to reports of a woman screaming in the area of College Avenue and Stuart Street at 1:10 a.m. Thursday, officers arrived to find a man and woman who had been robbed at gunpoint.

The two were near their home when a man approached the woman, pointed a gun at her and demanded her belongings.Two others knocked the man to the ground, causing injuries. They fled on foot, taking the man's wallet and cell phone and the woman's purse.

They were last seen heading east on Stuart toward College Avenue.

The suspects are described as black men in the mid-20s, one 6 feet tall and slender, wearing a black T-shirt; one 5 feet, 8 inches with a medium build and wearing dark clothing; and a third described only as having a medium build.

The victims told police all three were armed with “black guns."
