Battery Victim Suffers Serious Injury at People's Park

The victim does not know the name of the suspect but has seen him in the park in the past. The victim suffered a broken jaw and was treated at Alta Bates Hospital for his injury.

UC Berkeley Police Department is looking for a suspect who caused serious bodily injury to a victim at People's Park on Sunday.

A UCPD officer was dispatched to the Alta Bates Emergency Room around 5 p.m. on April 14 after receiving a phone call from an emergency room staff person regarding a walk-in patient who was the victim of a battery at People’s Park earlier in the day.

The non-affiliated victim was in the park at approximately 7:30 a.m. when he was approached by a man. An argument ensued and the suspect punched the victim in the jaw. The victim fell back and the suspect walked away.

The suspect is described as a white male, 5 ft. 8 inches in tall and about 135 lbs. with a light build. He has short, straight brown hair and was wearing a blue jacket and beige pants.
