Armed Robbery on Dwight and Piedmont

Two suspects stole a victim's cell phone during an armed robbery on Monday evening.

A 20-year-old man was robbed on Monday evening along Dwight Way and Piedmont Avenue, according to UC Berkeley Police.

Around 8 p.m., he was walking in the area and heard someone running behind him.

Two suspects approached the man. One of them, who was armed with a gun, pointed it at him while the second suspect demanded his property.

The suspects took the victim’s cell phone and ran off on foot westbound on
Dwight Way.

The first suspect is described as a 25-year-old Hispanic man, 5 ft. 7 inches in height, medium build and wearing a red knit cap and baggy clothing. The other suspect is described as a 25-year-old black man, 6 feet tall, with a thin build, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and dark clothing

BPD and UCPD searched the area but were unable to locate the
two suspects.

The victim was not physically injured during the encounter.
