2 Burglaries at UC's Clark Kerr Campus

UC Berkeley police said Monday that the rooms of two residents were burglarized at Cal's Clark Kerr campus over the Thanksgiving holidays.

The rooms of two residents at UC Berkeley's Clark Kerr campus were burglarized over the Thanksgiving holidays, UC Berkeley police said today, Monday.

Both of the rooms were in Building 7, campus police said in a crime alert.

In one of the crimes, access was gained by breaking a window sometime between 3 p.m. Wednesday and 4:54 p.m. Saturday, police said.

In the other burglary – which occurred between 6 p.m. Wednesday and 10 a.m. Sunday – the resident "returned home and found several items had been stolen from his room, including a guitar, musical equipment and a laptop," according to the police alert. "The doors and windows of the residence were locked and it is unknown how the burglar(s) entered the residence."

The Clark Kerr campus – a former state school for the deaf and blind – is located on Warring Street at Parker St., about five blocks south of the core main campus.

Anyone with information about the crimes is urged to call UC Berkeley police at 510-642-0472 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., and 510-642-6760 at all other times.
