Our Weather Deserves Reporting

OUT OF THE SKILLET INTO THE FRYING PAN
There's a heat wave out there.
In the South Bay and elsewhere, cities have opened cooling shelters.
But here in Berkeley, you'd never know we were boiling.
This after record-breaking rains (also unreported in Berkeley).
Ho-hum to weather here. In farm regions weather matters.
Our nearest farm is the Berkeley Bowl.
Even the Berkeley habit-you-ay of coffee houses, record stores, and book stores noticed the heat. Telegraph's Caffe Med sweltered.
The last East-Bay heat wave was, like this one, statewide. That was 2008--May.
GIVE US A BREAK
By 2:30 p.m. on Berkeley's South side, temperatures declined. And by six, our natural air conditioning kicked in after a week (Jun 26-Jul 2) of boil.
The forecast--to be cautious--gives the wave until 7 p.m. today (July 3). Seventy-seven is forecast high today. Seven degrees less, based on a finger in the air.
Halleluja, Hell is cancelled.
You read it here first.
