Funeral Services for Marine Killed by Suspected Drunken Driver from Emeryville

Funeral services are scheduled for a 23-year-old U.S. Marine killed by a suspected drunken driver in Fremont last week. 

A final viewing, mass service and burial will be held on Friday for friends and family to say goodbye to Union City resident Andrew Silva. 

Silva, a lance corporal in the United States Marine Corps., died after the motorcycle he was on was struck by a Mini Cooper on March 25. The collision took place near the Fremont Bank Brookvale office. 

The final viewing is planned for 11:30 a.m. on Friday at St. Anne's Church in Union City. Mass will be at noon and burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. at the Chapel of the Chimes in Hayward.

St. Anne's Catholic Church is located at 32223 Cabello St. in Union City. The Chapel of Chimes is located at 32992 Mission Boulevard in Hayward.

Silva graduated from James Logan High School in Union City in 2009 and returned from a tour of duty in Afghanistan in February, authorities said.
