Celebration of Life for Fallen Berkeley Firefighter

The community is mourning the sudden loss of Berkeley Firefighter Anthony "Tony" Nunes, who died on Feb. 23 in an off-duty accident.

A Celebration of Life will be held this Sunday in honor of Berkeley Firefighter Anthony "Tony" Frank Nunes.

The services will be held at noon on Sunday at the Haas Pavilion on the UC Berkeley Campus

According to a post on the Berkeley Firefighters Association website, a reception will be held after the services at the Men's Faculty Club on UC Berkeley Campus.

Nunes, 54, died unexpectedly in off-duty accident at his Martinez home, near Briones Regional Park, on Feb. 23. Nunes died the day before his 28th anniversary working as a Berkeley firefighter.

Berkeley Firefighters Association posted the following information regarding crds, flowers and donations:

In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make a donation to the Alicia Ann Ruch Burn Foundation to celebrate Tony's enjoyment of working with children.
